The main square of the city, Piazza Walther, is home to Bolzano’s magical Christmas markets, the largest in Italy, which are held every year from late November to early January.

Skijalište Carezza – 1 dan

The ski resort Carezza is located in the Val di Fassa (Fassa Valley/Fassatal) (Italy, Trentino-Alto Adige (Trentino-Südtirol), Trentino) and in the Eggental Valley (Val D’ega) (Italy, Trentino-Alto Adige (Trentino-Südtirol), South Tyrol (Südtirol)). For skiing and snowboarding, there are 40 km of slopes available. 13 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,182 and 2,337 m.

The ski resort of Carezza Ski at the foot of the Rosengarten and above Lake Carezza (Karersee) is one of the sunniest ski resorts in South Tyrol with an average of 8 hours of sunshine per winter day. All slopes, toboggan runs, cross-country trails and hiking trails lead to the same finishing points – ideal for skiing with the whole family. One new and unique attraction is the first kids’ snowpark in Italy. Freestyle elements designed specially for children promise thrills for young freestylers in the winter sports resort at the Rosengarten. There are also special family fun lines in the ski resort of Carezza Ski: it's not often you see so many smiling faces over different generations. The König Laurin children’s ski tour is another real highlight for all junior ski kings.

The ski resort Arabba/Marmolada is located in the Province of Belluno (Italy, Venetia (Veneto)). For skiing and snowboarding, there are 63 km of slopes available. 26 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,446 and 3,269 m.

The ski resort of Arabba/Marmolada is part of the famous “Sella Ronda” ski circuit in the Dolomites. From Arabba, the lifts and ski slopes extend in three directions. To the north, they go up towards Passo di Campolongo (1,875 metres), with Alta Badia behind. To the south, they take you over the Passo Padon (2,370 metres) to Malga Ciapela and the famous Marmolada (3,342 metres). On the highest mountain in the Dolomites, the ski area extends all the way to Punta Rocca (3,269 metres). To the west, the winter sports area extends to the Passo Pordoi (2,239 metres) including a link to the Fassatal (Val di Fassa) behind. In the west, the impressive Sella group and Piz Boè (3,152 metres) tower over the village of Arabba, at 1,602 metres. In addition to skiing, there are many other activities to choose from in the ski resort of Arabba/Marmolada, such as snowshoe and winter hiking trails, ice skating, snowmobiling and ice climbing.

Mount Marmolada is the highest peak of the entire Dolomites, knows also as The Queen. Mountains are snow-covered, forests and meadows are silent giving us a magical atmosphere.

Marmolada Great War Museum 3000 m

In the places where these thief fights took place, where the main battles had been fight, a war museum was built: Marmolada World War I Museum. An exhibition which contains lots of war relics and everyday life objects. It explains a small part of history never to forget.

Malga Ciapela is the perfect place to start your day on the slopes on the Marmolada. This village, located at an altitude of 1,450 metres, features plenty of ski-in, ski-out hotels. Malga Ciapela is where the famous Marmolada cable car begins its ascent to Punta Rocca, at an altitude of 3,265 metres. You can hop out at the midway Serauta station to visit the First World War Museum, too.

Sottoguda

Sottoguda is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy from 2016 together with Palue. It is a treasure at the foot of the Queen of the Dolomites, the Marmolada, widget in between the cliff of the Serrai Park and the bosch di faièr, one of the highest beech forests in Europe.

In this ancient hamlet the time seems to stop; among its narrow streets full of authentic views, there are a lot of tabièi, the barns in wood once used for the shelter of cattle and hay and today skilfully renovated and decorated with objects made by local craftsmen.

This territory is rich in natural raw materials such as wood and iron and the tradition of the workmanship is handed down from generation to generation. In Sottoguda it is possible to admire the works created by the craftsman and to visit their shops: iron animals, goblins carved in wood, beech jewels and wonderful crystals await you for a unique experience between tradition and current events.

Skijalište Civetta – 1 dan

The ski resort Civetta – Alleghe/Selva di Cadore/Palafavera/Zoldo is located in the Province of Belluno (Italy, Venetia (Veneto)). For skiing and snowboarding, there are 72 km of slopes available. 23 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,000 and 2,100 m.

The ski resort of Civetta covers the area between Alleghe, Selva di Cadore, Palafavera and Val di Zoldo. Lifts provide access to slopes on Crep de Pecol, Col di Dof, Col dei Baldi and Monte Fernazza. The impressive Dolomite peaks of Monte Civetta (3,218 metres) and Monte Pelmo (3,168 metres) lie in the immediate vicinity of the winter sports resort. The ski resort takes its name from Monte Civetta. The slopes for skiing and snowboarding are wide and always ideally prepared. Winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy beautiful views of the Dolomites all day long.

Belluno

Perched on high bluffs above the Piave river and backed majestically by the snow-capped Dolomites, Belluno makes a scenic and strategic base to explore the surrounding mountains. The historical old town is its own attraction, mixing stunning views with Renaissance-era buildings. And you'll be happy to fuel up for hikes in the nearby mountains on the city's hearty cuisine, including Italy's most remarkable cheeses: Schiz (semi-soft cow's-milk cheese, usually fried in butter) and the flaky, butter-yellow Malga Bellunese.
