The Una River is divided into two sections for rafting purposes: the upper Una and the lower Una. The upper Una is known for its fast rapids and challenging whitewater, while the lower Una is more calm and peaceful, making it ideal for beginners or those who want a more relaxed experience.


Depending on the weather conditions during a specific year, the rafting season on the Una River lasts from end of March till end of October.

Upper Una

Strbacki buk – Lohovo | 15 km | 3h | III – IV


The most attractive section on the Una River, stretching 15km in length, from Štrbački Buk to the settlement of Lohovo, runs through the Una National Park.


The first part is long, powerful, unpredictable, with numerous smaller and larger waterfalls, rapids, and whirlpools.


The difficulty level of the Una River during high water levels in April and May ranges from 3 to 4 degrees, while during moderate water levels, it ranges from 2 to 3 degrees.


The route is complex and challenging, with turbulent water around travertine rocks, currents, and bends.

Rafting trips on the Upper Una River typically last between 3 and 5 hours, depending on the section of the river and the length of the trip.


During the trip, visitors will have the opportunity to paddle through beautiful scenery, navigate exciting rapids, and stop to swim in the river’s clear waters.

Lower Una

Kostela – Bosanska Krupa | 20 km | 4h | II – III


For less adrenaline, explore the exhilarating beauty of the lower Una River with two distinct rafting routes, both starting from the same point, approximately 10 km below the city of Bihac. The first route, Kostela to Luka (Grmusa), spans 13 km and takes around 2,5 hours to complete, offering a thrilling adventure rated between Class II and III rapids. For those seeking a longer journey, the Kostela to Bosanska Krupa route extends over 20 km and lasts approximately 4 hours, with similar rapids graded between Class II and III.

Ideal for beginners and families, these routes wind through the mesmerizing canyon carved by the Una River, showcasing its natural splendor.


The lower Una section is characterized by its gentle yet exciting rapids, providing an enjoyable experience amidst the stunning surroundings. Discover picturesque landscapes, small travertine waterfalls, and the crystal-clear waters of the Una River.
