excursion place Stojcevac

If you want to spend some more time at the foot of the Igman mountain, where is the air fresher and cleaner, making the temperature in the summer more pleasant than in the city itself, you can also visit Stojčevac excursion site which is in the immediate vicinity of Velika Aleja and Vrelo Bosne and can be reached by a short and pleasant walk.

Numerous plant species and a small stream that forms a little lake make Stojčevac an ideal place for a nature excursion.

Before the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1992-1995), Stojčevac was known as a resort for the communist elite, and it was there that the residence of the President of Yugoslavia and the communist leader Josip Broz Tito was located, which was connected to Mount Igman by an underground tunnel.

During the war, the facilities in Stojčevac were significantly devastated, but the fascinating nature remained almost untouched.
