Built in the period 1885-1901, this narrow-gauge railway connected Mostar with Dubrovnik and Konavle in Croatia, and with Nikšić and Herceg Novi in Montenegro. The first “Ćiro” passed this railway on July 15, 1901.
Today, the remains of the old railway line, its stations, tracks, tunnels, bridges and buildings are still visible.
For cyclists looking for a unique and unforgettable experience, the ĆIRO cycling path is the perfect way to explore the stunning landscapes of southern and southeastern Herzegovina, southern Croatia and Montenegro.
The path follows the route of the old railway and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
