Jajce is a historic town located in the central part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Bosnia during the 14th century, and its old town area is a popular tourist destination. The town is famous for its beautiful waterfalls, including the Pliva Waterfall, which is located in the center of town and is one of the 12 most beautiful waterfalls in the world according to National Geographic. Jajce also has several other notable landmarks, including the medieval Jajce Citadel, the Church of the Holy Mary, and the 17-meter-high tower known as the “Mithras Temple.” Additionally, Jajce is significant for its role in the establishment of the socialist state of Yugoslavia, as it was the site of the Second Session of the National Liberation Council in 1943, where the foundations for the new state were laid.
