Tipping | Napojnice | Bosnia & Herzegovina

Tipping is not mandatory in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but it is customary to leave a small amount of money as a token of appreciation for good service. The amount of the tip is usually up to the individual and depends on the level of service received.

In restaurants, it’s common to leave a tip of 10% of the total bill, or round up to the nearest whole number. In cafes, bars, and clubs, rounding up to the nearest whole number is also common.

For hotel staff, such as housekeeping and bellhops, leaving a small tip of 1-2 KM (Bosnian Convertible Mark) per day is appreciated. Taxi drivers do not usually expect a tip, but rounding up to the nearest whole number is a nice gesture.

It’s worth noting that some restaurants and cafes may include a service charge in the bill, so it’s always a good idea to check before leaving an additional tip.
