UNESCO World Heritage Sites

As of 2021, there are four sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the list and a further 10 on the tentative list.

Cultural:

  1. The Old Bridge Area of the Old City of Mostar – This historic bridge and the surrounding area represent a masterpiece of Ottoman-era architecture and engineering.
  2. Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge in Višegrad – This 16th-century bridge is considered to be one of the finest examples of Ottoman architecture and engineering.
  3. Stećci Medieval Tombstones Graveyards – These medieval tombstones are found throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, and are considered to be some of the most significant and unique cultural artifacts of the region.

Natural:

  1. Janj forest – It is large, dense forest located in the northeastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, known for its natural beauty and as a habitat for a variety of wildlife.
