Located in the northeastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the White Tower of Husein-Captain Gradaščević stands as a symbol of the town of Gradačac.
This historic castle, nestled within the Old Town complex, played a crucial role in the region’s military and administrative history.
Built in the 18th century and completed in 1824, the tower served as the headquarters for the Gradaščević family, who were prominent military leaders.
Although the tower was primarily used for military and administrative purposes, it holds deep historical significance due to its association with Husein-Captain Gradaščević, a key figure in Bosnian history.
The White tower is a three-story brick structure, rising 18 meters high with a square-based, four-story tower that adds another 22 meters to its height.
The tower offers a stunning panoramic view of Gradačac and the surrounding towns.
Over the years, the site has been carefully restored, and today, it features a restaurant at the top, where visitors can enjoy traditional Bosnian cuisine while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
Recognized as a national monument, the Bijela Kula is not just a relic of the past but a vibrant part of Gradačac’s cultural heritage.
