Tucked away near the town of Posušje, Ružički Potok is a true hidden gem of Herzegovina – a place still largely undiscovered by tourists. This enchanting stream flows into the tranquil Tribistovo Lake, offering breathtaking scenery that feels like a step into untouched nature.

Surrounded by lush pine forests, sunlit rocky cliffs, and crystal-clear turquoise water, Ružički Potok provides an unforgettable sense of peace and serenity. Whether you’re looking for a quiet nature escape or a scenic hiking experience, this destination is perfect.

A well-marked hiking trail runs along the stream, gradually ascending through fragrant pine woods toward the peak of Mount Oštrc (1,304 meters above sea level), where the stream originates.
Due to its attractive location and rich plant life, the surrounding area known as Oštrc once drew the interest of Austro-Hungarian botanists, adding historical and botanical significance to this scenic route.

The trail is considered easy and suitable for all age groups, including less experienced hikers or families with children.

Ružički Potok also holds great local significance – often called the “water that gives life.” It plays a vital role in supplying water to Tribistovo Reservoir, which has been serving the Posušje region since 1989.

Located between Posušje and Rakitno, on the way to the Blidinje Ski Resort and Blidinje Lake, Ružički Potok is a perfect detour for those seeking peaceful landscapes, fresh mountain air, and authentic Herzegovinian beauty.
