Lukomir, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s highest and most remote village, can be reached via two main routes.
- From Sarajevo – The journey takes you through the stunning Olympic mountain Bjelašnica.
- From Mostar – The route passes through Konjic and the Visočica mountain, offering breathtaking scenery.
Both routes are paved up to the point “Bjelašnica – Road to Lukomir“, from where a 10 km gravel road leads to the village. The gravel road is navigable at a slow pace with any car, but an SUV, quad, bicycle, or motorcycle is recommended for a smoother ride.
🚗 Which route is better?
- The Sarajevo route is slightly easier for cars as the road is wider.
- The Konjic route via Visočica mountain is narrower but offers breathtaking landscapes, making it ideal for adventure seekers.
