Dating back to the Middle Ages, the oldest part of the tower was constructed in the late 14th or early 15th century. Originally featuring a rectangular layout of 75 x 50 meters, the fortress boasted four square towers at the corners and a fifth one above the entrance gate.

Adding to the intrigue, a rectangular auxiliary building measuring 15.0 x 7.0 meters was erected north of the entrance, serving as an ammunition storage facility.
