By blending it with Roma (Gypsy) influences and contemporary arrangements, they’ve created a genre often described as the “Balkan Blues.”

The Baščaršija Nights Festival is an international cultural collaboration and one of Sarajevo’s most cherished summer traditions. Held annually from July 1st to July 31st, this month-long festival transforms the city into a vibrant stage for art, music, and performance.
Events take place at various locations throughout Sarajevo, with a central stage that has traditionally been located on the plateau across from the iconic City Hall (Vijećnica). What makes Baščaršija Nights truly special is not only its duration but also the diversity of its program and the participation of artists from numerous countries around the world.
The festival features a rich and varied program that includes opera, ballet, contemporary dance, classical and modern music, theater performances, literary evenings, children’s programs, film screenings, and traditional folklore showcases.
